Comments: | Opened in 1852 as W. F. Robertson and Sons in Beverly, OH with steamboat equipment as their specialty. Relocated to Marietta, OH in 1881 after a fire. Sold to Alla Windsor in 1892 who renamed the firm. Its shipbuilding facilities were destroyed in the 1913 flood and the firm was again relocated in 1915 to Point Pleasant. Operations ceased in 1970 and the company was purchased by Amherst Industries as Point Pleasant Marine Company. An employee strike led to its final closure. |
